The amenities of Stonewater Ranch support a lifestyle that can be as active as you wish. The amenities, combined with ongoing programming by the professional management team, will offer something for everyone. A limited number of restricted golf memberships will be offered to residents of Stonewater Ranch.

Stonewater Ranch Golf Club

Image The Stonewater Ranch Golf Club lies nestled along the banks of the McLeod River. The 18 hole Par 72 will play from 5,500 to over 7,200 yards and has been designed to seamlessly fit with the land by making use of the natural topography. The layout consists of two separate nine-hole loops that maximise the extensive river shoreline. The use of natural forested areas, ponds and creeks make for an exceptional experience with subtle contour that makes the course very walk able. This interesting test will appeal to all levels of skill through the use of multi teeing areas and strategically placed hazards.

Resort Centre

Image The Resort Centre will be located on a natural plateau over looking the McLeod River Valley and is planned to contain 475 condominiums, a hotel, a spa and conference facilities. There will also be retail opportunities, food and beverage outlets, personal services, a health club, the club house for the golf course, all coordinated within an urban village setting. The Resort Centre will be developed over a number of stages and construction is anticipated to commence once the first phase of development has been completed.

Area Attractions and Activities

Image The foothills area and the nearby Alberta Rocky Mountains offer a variety of recreational opportunities. A day trip to Jasper offers many opportunities for hiking, climbing, downhill skiing, rafting or many more mountain activities.. An abundance of recreational opportunities exist in the Edson area including, fishing, hunting, trail riding, camping, boating, caving, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, four wheel driving, photography, etc. The Rocky Mountain foothills provide endless recreational opportunities in a vast and diverse geographical area. The nearby Town of Edson has a population of over 8,000 people and is a service centre for the region. Edson has plans for a new centre for its dynamic arts community. An airport with a 6000 foot paved runway is located in Edson.

Storage Facilities

Image Mini storage units and outdoor storage plots will be offered in a central location. Residents will have a limited number of opportunities to obtain an on site storage unit for items that required indoor or outdoor storage. These units will be available for purchase or lease.

Hiking Trails

ImageA trail system will be established along the scenic McLeod River for hiking and cross country skiing. Access to the trail system will be provided through a system of trails, paths and sidewalks. Efforts will be made to extend a formal trail system into adjacent Crown lands. ATVs and snowmobiles will not be allowed on the pedestrian oriented trails and will be encouraged to utilize other areas. Resting areas and limited facilities will be developed along the hiking trails. The golf course cart paths will be available for cross country skiing during the winter months.

Health Club

Image The Resort Centre will contain a pool, exercise facility, tennis courts and other activities. The residents of Stonewater Ranch will have access to the health club and its various programs. The management team and volunteer groups will organize activities throughout the year that will involve the health club facilities. An outdoor ice rink will be available for residents and other seasonal activities will be organized. It will be up to the management and the volunteers to plan activities that are in demand at any given time.

Equine Facility

Image Stonewater Stables will be an architecturally designed equine facility that will offer various opportunities for horse owners and enthusiasts. Facility plans include stables, an indoor riding area, an out door arena and supporting functions. Boarding, leasing and rental options will exist for riders. Camps for all levels of riders will be organized and experts will be brought in to teach students of all ages and abilities. Western and English riding will be offered in separate facilities with some overlap with respect to the use of key infrastructure. Veterinary and other services will be organized through the Stonewater Stables. Adjacent Crown lands offer additional riding opportunities and an opportunity to expand the equine facilities.
